I own & operate a wood flooring/remodeling business in San Diego, I’m considering moving back to the Midwst for the lower cost of living. I am wondering if my skills are in demand and if people are having this type of work done in and around Milwaukee, any additional info about remodeling/hardwood flooring in the area would be very helpfull

Gosh there are loads of homes in the Milwaukee, Racine area that date back to the turn of the 1900s and I am sure they have wooden floors (at least my Grandparent’s home and great Grandparent’s homes did) so I would think there would be much work available for you. Check with the business association there to see how many people are in your line of work. Good luck and if you need to do landscaping on your home while living there go see my cousins at Milaeger’s Nusery in Racine.

To find out I would advertise in Milwaukee and the metro area (Grafton, Cedarburg and Mequon are high end ritzy cities and south of Milwaukee, Racine and Kenosha areas) for a few weeks and see if there is a demand.
I live north of Milwaukee near West Bend, right now work is slow almost everywhere, (the x-mas crunch) it’s getting closer to tax refund time and spring is coming so everything will pick up, which would be a good time to advertise…there are thousands of potenial customers.
